FAYETTE COUNTY CHAMBER DIRECTOR SERVES AS PARADE JUDGE -- Visits Jackson Hole Chamber during town's Fourth of July festivities

Jackson, Wyoming - In a friendly gesture of inter-Chamber relationships, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Director, Gertrud Whitaker, was invited to serve as a Parade Judge for the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce's annual 4th of July Parade.

Known as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, thousands of visitors stop in Jackson, WY, each summer to experience a true western town.  During the nation's celebration of Independence Day, Jackson's organizations pull out all the stops to make sure that their residents and visitors are given a day to remember.  Ms. Whitaker emailed Jackson Hole Chamber's Caitlin Colby several weeks prior to her vacation out west to ask if their Chamber needed additional volunteer help during the Fourth of July Parade hosted by the Jackson Hole Chamber.  To her surprise, the immediate response back was an emphatic "yes!"  Gertrud and her husband, Wade, were provided reserved seating with the other judges in the Grand Stands.  With brief instructions on how their "judging sheets" worked, they took their seats, and enjoyed a true western parade complete with rodeo queens, fire trucks, whitewater rafts, vintage cars, Forest Service and Grand Teton National Park mule trains and more!

Other activities provided by local Jackson organizations, which have local chapters that are also part of the Fayette County Chamber, included the Lions Club Fundraising Breakfast on one entire block next to one of the antler arches on Town Square.  All-you-can-eat eggs, sausage, pancakes, OJ and coffee, were served to the street full of hungry guests who enjoyed patriotic music played by the Jackson Hole Community Band.  Other events which highlighted Jackson's celebration included the afternoon Town Square "shoot out," and nighttime fireworks that filled the mountain skies with glorious displays of light!

Below are pictures commemorating the day's events:
