Reid hosts Health-ier Community Day

‘Reid Health-ier Community Day’ at Roberts Park Aug. 10

Reid Health will host its first Reid Health-ier Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Roberts Park in Connersville.

Billie Kester, Reid Health Vice President/Continuum of Care, says the event from 9 a.m. to noon is designed to promote healthy choices and share various services available from the health system to improve community health - and just have some fun. All activities, including the Color Run, are free.

More than 50 team members will be on hand to lead activities that include:

  • A 3-K Family Friendly Color Run -- Registration will open at 8 a.m. for this event.The first 500 registrants will get a free T-shirt and sunglasses for the run!
  • Fitness classes led by HealthWorks instructors
  • Rock climbing wall
  • Face painting
  • Strong-man competition
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Information about Reid Health resources and screenings
  • Inflatables

Healthy snacks and prizes will also be available, along with booths with information about services.

In conjunction with the event, Reid is also sponsoring Family Day at Connersville Park Pool with free admission from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. - and a free beach towel to the first 250 swimmers.

"As part of our continued efforts in the region to provide resources that encourage and promote wellness, we hope this event encourages community members to join us in a day full of physical activity appropriate for all ages and abilities," Kester said. The event is supported by Reid Health Community Benefit.
